A few years ago, if you wanted to improve your home’s security, you bought a new deadbolt and maybe a “beware of dog” sign. These days, though, a home security system with sensors and motion detectors can be found on most homes. We’ve come a long way, but there’s a lot more to be done. With new technology and systems emerging every day, the future of home security is bright. Advanced Lock & Security is committed to always giving you the best of the best, so here are some things we’re looking forward to in the future of home security.
Most security systems come with a camera these days. Cameras can often detect motion and record suspicious activity when you need them to. Camera technology has been improving, though, and now we have camera systems that can distinguish between animals and people along with detecting normal weather patterns, reducing the amount of false alarms. While this is cool, many are calling for further advancement in this area, including cameras that distinguish between residents of a home and strangers. This would require the use of things like advanced facial recognition, but it’s actually not that far off.
An incredible new system called AI cameras was recently released as well. AI cameras not only record motion, but are programmed to detect unusual behavior and are said to be the future of surveillance and, eventually, home security. The system monitors normal behavior in an area, then can detect abnormal patterns in human behavior, including signs that suggest intoxication or uncontrolled behavior, like stumbling. Standing still for too long or sleeping on the ground or in public places are also programmed to be signs of abnormal human behavior. The system can automatically alert authorities of this behavior is detected and considered to be a threat. Right now, this technology is usually only being used in city surveillance, but the capability to include it in a home security system is right around the corner.
Some of the newest home security tech that will be readily available in the coming months are security systems that protect more than just the front door and entryways. These systems work to prevent a criminal from ever reaching your door by utilizing lights that activate when they detect motion or vibrations. The system can then send an actual drone equipped with a camera out to inspect and record the suspicious activity. They can even be set to ignore daily activities like kids playing in the yard.
This cool technology is just the start of what we’re seeing for the future. Home security inventions are popping up all over the market as people begin to realize that new technology can be incredibly useful for keeping our families safer. Everything from actual sentry guns that shoot paintballs to a real robot that you can control over the internet to watch over and protect your children or elderly while providing home surveillance at the same time have all reached the market.
When it comes down to it, the future of home security is preventative. It’s all about not waiting for a window to be broken or a dangerous individual to reach your door. Advanced Lock & Security knows the best ways to keep you safer, and we’re always looking for the newest (and coolest) security technology. Let us help you keep your family safer with the best products on the market.
