Our motion sensor security systems at Advanced Lock & Security are “pet friendly” meaning, we customize the system to detect anything over a certain size, using multiple ray sensors, that can distinguish the difference between size and weight.
Also, properly labeling the outside with the appropriate signage will make it very obvious that kicking in the door, or going through the pet door is a bad idea! There are many people who put up signage and have no real security installed. We would warn against this, for a determined thief, this will be easily discovered. If this is important to you, make the investment in a proper system, and we’ll provide you with the highest professional service, going above and beyond expectation.
When it comes to the concern of “pet doors” there are several concerns and options we’re left with, some more reliable than others… Easiest being, use the door cover that comes with the kit to discourage anyone from being overly tempted, this door cover can be easily upgraded to something a bit sturdier too, like a steel plate that runs along a couple slide rails, this would be an option for vacations. On a daily basis, going to work and wanting your pet to be able to access the backyard shouldn’t be a major issue, there are sensor locks that can be installed, that would correspond with a sensor on the collar, if desired this can be set to only allow departures for the pet, leaving them in the yard until you return, for mitigating any extra security concerns.
Deadlocked gates are something we highly implore at Advanced Lock & Security, It’s a quick and easy installation, even if modifications to the fence are necessary. Most often a simple deterrent such as securing the parameter will stop most anyone that doesn’t have premeditated plans to break in to your yard/house specifically. For those more devious in nature, we could take this a step farther and install an electric fence, supplying a thorough kick if an intruder attempts to breach the fence.
For those less attached, there are removable thumb turn deadbolts, discouraging a petty thief from getting away with larger items. Using this deadbolt, they won’t be able to open the door from the inside with the exception of kicking it out. This however should be paired with other security precautions such as a motion sensor security system. Here at Advanced Lock & Security we pride ourselves in covering your personal home or business security from every angle and would love the chance to discover how we could help meet your security needs!
