From working to enhance urban GreenSpace initiatives to being a corporate waste broker (yeah, that’s a thing) and even a foundry safety officer, Jordan’s variety of skills and endeavors is storied and impressive.
Through it all, what he learned most was that he likes change and challenge, task variety and diverse interactions.
That’s what our work offers him, but what he offers us is a more than fair trade.
In the foundry, he could take a break from the office work of writing up procedures and best practices, and go deep into the noise and dirt of the place to work at or shadow any job.
Any job.
In a foundry.
That is a heck of a variety of jobs and procedures! Many of which are burdened with big risks and bad results if rules aren’t tried, proven, and clear.
The hands-on doing gave valuable insight to his safety doings. When he went back into the office, his firsthand insights made his procedures and cautions much more thorough and keenly helpful.
Jordan graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. His academic and real-world experience set him to be a double-barreled asset (#pewpew), welcome and encouraged just about anywhere.
And we got him!
The combination of his education and experience means that, on projects with us, he’s not just doing a job, he's extending his education and applying his work experience.
With each project Jordan works on, he compiles procedural insights to track and share. Each time Jordan works a job with us, the whole crew benefits, the whole company improves. And it’s work he enjoys.
You can see how the trade is more than fair and why we’re more than happy to have him with us.
And, if we ever need someone to broker our waste... we’re all set. Fine, we’ll tell you just what a Waste Broker is. We had to ask too.
Jordan would help large companies broker the most economical and efficient ways to dispose of their garbage. Sure, it makes perfect sense now, but when we first heard it, we didn’t know what it was either.
It’s just another example of Jordan’s history of specializing in the best ways to do things. Even his time helping to plan urban green spaces was, essentially, another example of trying to find the best ways to implement a plan in challenging circumstances.
And that is precisely what Jordan does for us, just about every day: he finds the best way to get the job done; he makes sure we all know it, and he always gives credit where credit is due.
And no, you can’t have him - he’s ours.
