No matter what kind of business you run–from a small mom-and-pop store to a national chain–you’ll need a good locksmith. But with so many locksmith companies being shams, how can you know which one will be right for your business? We think you should choose Advanced Lock & Security, of course–but if you’re outside our service area, here are a few tips to help you find a reputable commercial locksmith.
- Choose a company that’s known and trusted in the community. Unscrupulous companies will often prey on businesses by pretending to be locally-owned; however, when you do some investigative work (like checking the address), you’ll find that they’re actually part of larger scam companies licensed elsewhere (if at all) who may disappear not too long after working for you. To avoid getting into this situation, it’s a great idea to look at online reviews posted on places like Yelp! and Google to see what people are really saying. While you’re at it, be sure to get an idea of how long a company has been around.
- Choose a business that excels in multiple areas. Here at Advanced Lock & Security, we like to say that security is more than just locks on doors. That’s certainly an important part of a locksmith’s job–but it’s far from exclusive. We offer products and services like CCTV camera systems, exit devices, desk and file cabinet locks, door closers, safes, exit alarms, and even commercial door installation–and more! A good locksmith will not only know their way around locks, but around every potential weak spot in a business’ security–and they’ll know how to fix those weak spots.
- Make sure you choose a company that’s available 24 hours a day.Crime doesn’t sleep–so why should a locksmith company, which is responsible for the first line of defense against many crimes? Some companies are open only during business hours, but if an emergency happens during the night, they can be difficult to contact; you may even have to put up with an unhelpful after-hours service person who doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing or care about your emergency. Advanced Lock & Security has reliable 24-hour service–make sure that any locksmith you use has the same.
Thanks for the post. I agree that you should choose a company that is well known in the community. I think that can prevent any problems or concerns that you may have. I like the idea to look at online reviews, and if possible to ask for references from the company.
Getting locked out of a building, especially when it’s your office, is the worst! Having a trusted locksmith to get you out of that sticky situation would be helpful so you’re not stuck out in the cold. I also like how you mention that you should choose a company that’s available 24 hours a day. It seems like situations like this always occur after hours and you want to know that a locksmith will help you no matter what time of day or night it is!
I like the article’s suggestion to choose a company that’s known and trusted in the community. It says that a good way to choose a commercial locksmith is to look at online reviews. Another tip I think could be helpful is to ask co-workers, friends, and other associates for referrals of who they’ve worked with in the past.
In the article you suggested looking online, and choosing the commercial locksmith that is most trusted in the community. If they are trusted by other businesses in the area, it means that they have successfully helped them secure their own businesses. When hiring someone reputable, it can give you a great deal of peace of mind.
