Timmy Dilorenzo

Variety, Depth, Technicality

Security Technician Tim

In school, Timmy was a good a student, but didn’t like sitting around. Of all the classes, he liked history the most.“True stories of people not sitting around,” as he calls it.

His uncle noticed he was twitchy doing nothing and suggested he work, as he did, as a locksmith. The hands-on aspect of it and the  “every day is different” nature of the work, really interested him.

His friends would hassle him about not joining them on their weekday outings but, the way Timmy looked at it, he’d rather work during the week and have the money for an actually good time on the weekends.

That way, rather than “go out” (his air quotes with a roll of the eyes) with his friends during the week, and try to make a No Money outing into a Yes Fun evening, Timmy would work hard so he could play hard.

Talk about Advanced thinking!

This was in junior high school. That means that, by the time he graduated high school, Timmy had six years of locksmith experience - (and a lot of fun memories!)

After high school, his deep experienced netted him the position of lead locksmith at Temple Episcopal Hospital. He soon realized though that the work lacked the variety and technicality to really deepen his skills.

So, he left it all behind and went into sales..for Ilco, a renowned lock company. “I just couldn’t get away from it, “ he says with a smile.

Soon enough, he moved to Queens NYC to help take care of his ailing grandmother. Yes, hard working - and a “good boy.” He definitely got a grandmotherly pinch on the cheek for that one!

Door Closer installation

Door Closer

Tim executes a tricky install of a door closer on a glass door.

Get it wrong and the door closes too hard. The glass door...

Push Bars / "Panic Bars"

To maintain quick egress, "Panic Bars" are a rugged, reliable choice.

When it comes to these installs, Tim is always calm.

Push Button Locks

These are great solutions for limiting access.  Have number, have access - it's that simple.

Another smooth install gets "Tim Approved."

The whole time there, he still dabbled in locksmith work - and NYC had plenty of variety and true stories to keep his interest.

When it came time to go back full time into locksmith work, he came to us. We’re glad to have grabbed up such an enthusiastic and experienced technician.

The variety of the work, and the depth of technicality some projects involve, is just the kind of “not sitting around” that Timmy enjoys most. With Advanced, he gets deep into his favorite kind of work and we get to take on more of the projects and problems we’re known for tackling in the Delaware Valley region.

Timmy on our crew is a great match - with three winners - Advanced, Timmy - and you!

Franchise Maintenance

Tim likes that each day is different. Good thing because, on any given day, he can be at all sorts of stores, restaurants, malls and corporate parks.

Problem Solver

This was an interesting job; the electronic striker was loud - too loud.

The lock was working properly. It was the hollow construction of the frame and adjacent wall. It acted like a guitar to amplify the sound.

Took a bit, but Tim figured it out!
